Random thoughts for your hump day :)

Yesterday I got off work early and decided I was ready to take the plunge and paint chevron on the wall in my living room. 

You guys, I was excited about this. 

Once I had the tape on, things were looking pretty good.

Well I put on my first coat of paint and the negatives starting rolling into my mind. 

Do I love the color I picked?

The stripes are too big....

Does it look like Charlie Brown exploded on my wall?

Let's just say I hope I like it better once I've finished painting and the tape is taken down. 

Cause right now... I'm just not sure.

In the middle of the taping/painting I took a break and had some Cafe Rio (Taco Tuesday) and watched the finale of The Vampire Diaries. 

Is anyone else dying for the new season to start?!? 

OMG. 

I will keep you posted on the status of my chevron wall....

Crappy crafting...

This weekend Jessica and I attempted to be crafty. 

I say attempted because it seems like we bought a lot of stuff and had high expectations of our finished products and in reality they were just not good.

I made this sign a few weekends ago...

I love the way it turned out! 

So, we decided to try and make a Halloween sign using the same technique as this one... 

I don't have a picture of the finished product (because it isn't even finished ha) 

but let's just say it doesn't look as good...

Blah. 

We also attempted to make picture frames

...that didn't exactly work either hahaha

Another project that I have been in the process of working on is this one...

Holy pain. Let's not even talk about the huge amount of extra white there is on the bottom. I haven't even attempted to re-cut it. I've had this picture sitting in my basement literally for months.  You could say we aren't getting along haha. 

One thing that I was semi successful in doing this weekend was spray painting these hideous lamps that got left at our house from the previous owner...

Now the only problem is the lamp shades. They are obnoxious. I need to find new ones...

Ok, on to yet another thing that has been "in the works"---

My living room wall. 

Originally I painted this wall a purplish color.

Well I hate it.

So I decided, I am buying wallpaper! 

Well, I couldn't find any that I love....

So I went home and started painting over the purple. 

Just painted it white. 

hahahaha I realize this is a major disaster. I still need to do a few more coats. 

The new plan is to either do a stripe or chevroned wall!

Chances of either of those things happening? Not great.

I'm sure I will attempt, but you know how that goes. 

and finally I did a DIY canvas. 

Here is the finished product. 

This project was a huge mess. 

Modge podge is so messy. 

Now it didn't turn out perfectly... at all... but I am somewhat pleased with it.

So there. 

I have 3 more to do, so hopefully they will look better.

Well that was my weekend... it feels like I did a lot yet got nothing done...

If only the weekend was 5 days and the week was 2 days. 

If only...

Our first anniversary

It sounds weird to say it is our first anniversary (yesterday)....

Mostly because we have been together for almost 5 years, but also weird

that it has already been a year since we got married! 

To celebrate our first year as a married couple we went to spend the weekend in Lava.

Lava is a small little town about 20ish minutes away from where we live.

Doesn't sound like loads of fun, I know, but it really was!

For dinner we walked down to a local pizza place.

We got the family special... for 2 people= way too much food!!

Good food though!!

The big reason that anyone really goes to Lava is for the hot pools--

Did you know they sell popsicles at the hot pools? How did I not know this? 

There's nothing like hot tubbing while enjoying a popsicle. Seriously. 

Good stuff. 

The next morning (the 17th) our actual anniversary-- we drove home and stopped for breakfast/lunch at 5th Street Bagelry. 

Coincidentally, on our wedding day I went there for breakfast with my friend Jessica. 

This time around I wasn't so nervous and I could actually enjoy my bagel ha. 

We ended up going to a late dinner at Red Lobster. 

Why a late dinner, you ask? Oh, because we decided to have direct tv installed and it took kind of forever. 

Anyways... dinner was amaze. And we have a shizzz ton of leftovers. 

Yayy for a fab lunch today. and probably dinner too ha!

Lastly we had to follow tradition and eat a little bit of the top of our wedding cake.

I didn't really think about the fact that it was in the freezer and so, it was frozen. Duh. 

Anyway... I let it thaw out a bit and took a little bite of it. Still pretty tastey. 

That is how we spent our first wedding anniversary! 

It was a good good weekend :)

Lets talk Bachelor Pad.
First off, I was more than wrong about the Michael Rachel situation.
Like wrong. wrong. wrong. 

You guys... I am so bummed over this.
Michael kinda let me down last night.
Seriously.

...and poor Rachel. As much as I loooove the Stag he most definitely led her on.
BIG TIME PEOPLE! 

One thing that made me happy was the Blakeley Tony situation.
Granted she is a little iffy... but I think it was so sweet they way she lit up when she talked about Tony. I think they really make each other happy. Hopefully his son agrees with their relationship. Idk how I feel about Blakely as a mom. Crossing my fingers for them.
((BTW did anyone see that relationship coming??)) I for one did not.

Finally we get to the money.
At least I was right about one thing.
I feel bad for Rachel (again).
Although Nick made some valid points, he was wrong (I think).
Even though she never wanted to be his partner, she was the only reason he really got any of the votes.. Blah! Idk! What a mess.

What really bugged me was how they were holding hands and being buddy buddy the entire show up until they got the money and then Nick was all for himself.
Ew. I was just annoyed.
ANNOYED I TELL YA!

That's reality tv for ya. Good stuff.

I wanna rock and roll all night....

Here we are at the Three Dog Night concert.

And yes, we are sort of matching. Flannel all around. 

Besides the fact that we didn't know 99% of the songs, we had a good time. 

The fair always draws out a good crowd and this concert was no exception. 

I was really wanting to go on some of the rides... sadly that didn't happen. 

I did get my chocolate covered strawberry kabob though :) 

The fair is always a great way to end the summer.

Sad to see it go :(

Bachelor Pad predictions

*Spoiler alert*

So this week on Bachelor Pad they eliminated 2 couples. 

Chris and Sarah won the first challenge and got to choose the first couple to leave. 

Obviously they chose Blakely and Tony. Who would have guessed?

Rachel and Nick won the second challenge and got to choose who to bring to the finale with them. 

Rachel has been good friends and in an alliance with Ed and Jacqueline since the beginning.

Long story short-- Nick talked her into voting them off and bringing Chris and Sarah to the finale because they would be easier to beat. 

If you watched, you know that was DRAMA.

Holayyy. 

The previews for next week (the finale) look insane! 

OMG. 

I think that they edited it to look like Rachel and Michael get into it and she is ticked at him. 

I think what really happens is Nick and Rachel win and Nick chooses to keep the money for himself (if you've ever seen a Bachelor Pad finale you know what this means) and Rachel freaks out!! Also, I think that the reason everyone is cheering and shocked is that Michael proposes to Rachel. I know the previews don't look like that but I'm telling you that is what happens. Ok-- I really don't know. But that's what I think. 

Now we have to wait a week to see....

The suspense is killing me. 

It was Labor Day weekend...

Friday afternoon Ashley came to town for the weekend.

She almost made it... until her car decided to die on the freeway.

Luckily it was right as she was getting into Pocatello so we didn't have to tow her far.

Speaking of my sister, Ashey---- Her ego is preggo! (We've known for a few months) But they finally made the news public! Congrats Ash and Casey! Personally, I can't wait to find out what they are having so I can buy sweet little baby things! I feel like it's going to be a girl... :)

Sunday night we had a birthday dinner/party for Jaylen. 

We had some delicious cheesecake made by our mama :)

Monday funday! 

Labor Day= The bestest. Life would just be so much better if there was never work on Monday's. I'm sure everyone would agree. 

Anyway... We went to the Blackfoot fair today. It was super hot but mucho fun. As usual the food was delish and we spent lots of $$. Not to mention we got our picture drawn again. It's kind of a tradition we have going :)

(This year I don't think the picture looks like Branden at all-- last years was better) 

It is still cute though!! 

Today is also Branden's little brother, Jake's Birthday!
