weeks 15-20

**this post is a few days late. my bad!

well another 5 weeks have flown by!
these last 5 weeks have been the most exciting yet.
mostly because we found out that we are having a little boy :)

i feel like it's time to kick it into gear and get stuff ready for the nursery.
the current "baby room" is basically our storage room/brandens laundry dump/storage room for anyone else who thinks they need to stash something away in there.
basically--- huge mess!!

luckily this weekend we started cleaning it out. progress.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"the bump"
i'm still not big enough for it to be obvious that i have a baby growing inside me haha.
although i can fake a pretty legit bump....
i sent this pic to branden a few weeks ago haha :)

really though, i just look like i've had one too many twinkies. you know that awkward in between stage, where you can't quite suck it in anymore?
----------------------------------------------------------------
in other news... i haven't been getting sick. hooray! i stopped taking zofran 2 or so weeks ago and i'm still going strong :)
the only time i really feel sick is at night after i take the dreaded prenatal pill.
i hate taking pills in general. but these are massive!
thankfully i'm getting close to finishing the bottle and hopefully the next bottle i buy will be smaller pills... is there such thing?? please say there is!!

cravings? i haven't had any. the only thing i've noticed that has been different food-wise lately is i've been wanting to drink soda a lot more than before! terrible, i know. mcdonalds coke is just too good to pass up. another kind of random thing, i use to love me some taco bell. but lately not so much. kinda weird. that's about it though...

oh p.s. i went to a few garage sales this weekend in search of a dresser... no luck :(

the dresser search...

i'm trying to get things ready to start putting the nursery together. right now i've got a whole lot of nothing to show for it.

one thing that i have been on the look out for is a dresser. i don't want a brand new one. i want a garage sale type dresser that i can paint. and specifically i want a short one that i can put a changing pad on if i want.

well i've lucked out twice on craigslist (sort of). the first dresser i found was only $25!!! score, right?? p.s. from the picture she/he posted i shoulda known... never trust a mess maker.
totally kidding. i'm still bitter.... keep reading...
anyway... i was really excited about this! it had some serious potential and only being $25 was a bargain. so i texted the lady who listed it and told her i was interested and to let me know when i could pick it up. she said she could do around 5 (but of course i couldn't) so i said we could come get it around 6? nothing..... she ended up texting me back around midnight saying that she had already sold it to someone else! for real!!

so i continued my search and found another dresser but this one was $50. still doable but i figured i could probably talk him down to at least $40.
once again i contacted the guy. i asked him if he could get me the measurements for it. he said yes. and then nothing.... so i texted him a few hours later asking if the dresser was still for sale and what do ya know? he sold it to someone else!! just my luck.

and now i'm on the look out again...

how annoying, right?!?

so, if you happen to see or hear of any good deals in the pocatello area let me know!!

i'll keep you posted :)

boy or girl??

yesterday was very exciting!!
we got to find out the gender of our baby!

here is how the day went down....

our appointment was scheduled for 2 o'clock.
i got off work a little after 1 and stopped at mcdonalds on the way home to get an extra large coke (with extra ice, of course) so that i would have a "full bladder" as the doctor requested ;)

we got to the doctors office and checked in and then the wait began...
luckily for us we only had to wait for about 5 minutes before they called us back!
i was super nervous!!
right when she put the ultrasound "wand" (if that's even what it's called?) on my stomach we saw the baby's profile and body. SO CRAZY!!
it was almost instant relief just to see that there was actually a baby with a beating heart moving around in there.

she went through all of body parts to measure everything and make sure everything was as it was supposed to be. everything looked good :)

then we got to the fun stuff!! finding out what this little bean was :)
well it was definitely a BOY!
the ultrasound tech said she wouldn't let anyone talk her out of it haha he was not shy about it!

i was able to download the video of our ultrasound online. i love being able to re-watch it!
isn't it so crazy to see him moving around and sucking his thumb??
love it!

we decided to do a little gender reveal party that night with our families.
everyone chose either team boy or team girl
the votes were obviously stacked for team girl!
there were quite a few people in my family that weren't there that were team girl, too :)

then the wait was over! we decorated the top of a pizza to say either boy or girl...
needless to say-- a lot of people were wrong!
everyone was so excited though :)

and although all we really wanted was a healthy baby....
we really wanted a boy!
so so so excited!!

now we just have to agree on a name....
;)

4th of july/ 4 day weekend (long post)

going back to work after a 4 day weekend is the worst.

this weekend was so much fun and jam packed.
it felt like there was almost always something to do, which was fun :)

wednesday night my sister, her husband, and their baby got here!
so we spent the night playing games and just hanging out.
(this game got a little out of control at times, mostly due to me haha)

thursday was the 4th of july.
we were planning on going to lava to go swimming with my family
but the weather had other plans...
right when we got there it was super cloudy and not exactly warm enough to swim.
everyone else decided to drive back to pocatello and go swimming
since it was still hot and sunny there.
branden and i decided to hang out and walk around for a bit.
we watched people float the river and got a snow cone :)

luckily the weather was still nice by the time we got back so we went swimming
with the rest of my family.

that night we went up to the fairgrounds to watch the fireworks.
well once again the weather wasn't cooperating...
it was too windy to light off the fireworks so they kept postponing it.

finally at about 11 o'clock we decided to go lay in the back of our truck and just watch them from there so that once they were over we could beat all the traffic and get home at a decent hour. (branden had to work the next day and we are just too old and boring to stay out that late anyway :))
they finally lit them off around 11:30.
laying in the back of the truck and watching them was the way to do it.
i'm thinking next year maybe we won't waste the $5 to get in and just park outside and watch them from there!

friday was actually really lazy (for me) branden had to work half of the day and then took a 4 hour nap when he got home. i spent most of the day watching old episodes of friends.
we went to dinner with branden's parents that night and then once it got dark we went out to my moms for a bonfire.
i had to overcompensate to make up for branden's lack of enthusiasm ;)

saturday i spent the day shopping with the girls of my family
(plus this handsome man)
and then we spent the night watching movies at branden's parents.

sunday was another relaxing day. we had dinner with my family before my sister left :(

it was a great weekend and i loved getting to hang out with my family (and especially my cute nephew) for 4 days in a row!

whew! you made it to the end of this post! congrats!
